Announced capabilities
On 15 September CeMAT published EME’s announcement of EME.WMS 6.6. The developer describes connecting AI agents through MCP to permitted warehouse functions. These are supplier product claims, not an independent test at a particular facility.
Make order readiness unambiguous
Editorial advice: before scheduling a truck from an assistant’s response, agree what “ready” means. Stock may be reserved but not yet picked, checked or moved to the gate. The carrier needs a confirmed point of readiness for actual loading.
Establish who corrects an incorrect status and how dispatch is informed. If the timing changes, the driver should receive the update before arrival. Agree one confirmation source and use AI conversation as supporting assistance.
What to discuss before connecting systems
Separate data viewing from actions that change an order. Ask which roles can confirm picking, change quantities or cancel an operation. A disputed dispatch requires a reconstructable action history and identification of who confirmed the physical handover.
Start with one clear process, such as handing a picked order to the carrier. Agree checkpoints, exceptions and a manual procedure for system unavailability. A new WMS version alone does not establish automatic integration with every delivery participant.
Frequently asked questions
Can one AI response be enough to book a truck?
First agree the data source, status meaning and the person responsible for confirming loading readiness.
