How to choose a warehouse operation
Start with the purpose of the consignment: holding stock, combining incoming shipments or transferring cargo for onward transport. This determines the schedule, handling and information needed for a quote.
Storage and release
For stock with subsequent releases, specify the expected storage period, average and maximum inventory, and frequency of receipts and dispatches. Describe any picking of individual packages or order assembly separately.
Shipment consolidation
If consignments arrive from several suppliers, provide the expected dates and contents of each. Agree when the complete set is considered assembled, whether repacking is needed and who confirms readiness for dispatch.
