CeMAT: warehouse robotics and pallet preparation
CeMAT announced its warehouse-robotics award results. Pallet specifications and receiving arrangements to confirm for automated handling.

The exhibition event
On 17 September CeMAT RUSSIA reported awards for warehouse automation and robotics projects, established by the industry ministry and Innopolis University’s specialist centre. This is an industry event, not confirmation that all automated warehouses have identical capabilities.
The pallet must fit the process
Editorial advice: before shipping to an automated warehouse, request requirements for pallet base, overhang, height, weight and packaging stability. Even a neatly wrapped load may not suit a particular line if its base is damaged or dimensions differ from those agreed.
Check label placement and readability after transport. Confirm whether mixed products are allowed on one pallet and who resolves discrepancies. The consignee’s actual process determines those conditions; the presence of robots alone does not describe them.
Agree exception handling
Define a separate receiving point and owner for damaged packaging or unusual packages. If cargo cannot enter automated handling, the driver needs a clear next step. Confirm in advance whether manual unloading is available and whether another appointment is needed.
For a first delivery, photographs of the prepared pallet and a final check with the consignee are useful. Agreed specifications and clear exception handling make delivery more predictable than a general “robotic warehouse” label.

No. The consignee also needs suitable base condition, weight, height, stability and consignment labelling.
