ASMAP warns that Kazakhstan permits are running low
ASMAP says its received stock of Kazakhstan permits for freight to and from third countries is running low. What to confirm with the carrier before dispatch.

What ASMAP said about permit availability
On 29 September, ASMAP reported that the permits it had received from the Kazakhstan side for freight transport to and from third countries were running low. The association asked carriers to take this into account when planning loads and to contact the issuing office in advance to check availability.
The notice concerns only the specified permit category and its availability at the issuing office. ASMAP did not state the remaining number, a possible exhaustion date or when new permits might arrive. It does not mean that all Kazakhstan permits have run out, that borders are closed or that all freight through Kazakhstan has stopped.
What to confirm before booking a load
If the planned road transport arrangement may require a permit for freight to or from a third country, ask the carrier to determine whether this category applies to your particular shipment, considering the origin and destination countries, route, parties involved and planned vehicle. Then ask the carrier to confirm that the required permit is actually available through the issuing office before agreeing on vehicle dispatch and the receiving time slot.
Record in the order who will recheck the document and when, before departure. If it is unavailable, consider another carrier or route only after checking the permits and cargo documents required for the alternative arrangement. ASMAP’s notice alone does not establish whether a particular shipment will be delayed or its price will change.
