The technology agenda
On 22 September the ministry reported an MGSU session discussing artificial intelligence, robotics, information modelling and new construction materials. This concerns technological development; it does not confirm removal of restrictions on any particular road.
A trip needs a section and a time
Editorial advice: check roadworks against the precise section and direction. A new paving technology does not itself tell you how many lanes are available or when a truck can pass. Use current road-owner information and the carrier’s agreed route.
If several work zones lie on the route, assess their combined effect on the receiving window. Small delays on different sections may push arrival beyond warehouse hours. Agree when dispatch will update the consignee’s estimate.
What counts as a confirmed improvement
For recurring shipments, record actual travel time and access conditions after works finish. Compare similar trips at comparable times. A general innovation announcement does not replace those observations or justify promising a lower price for a particular shipment.
Before collection, provide full cargo parameters and warehouse requirements. If a diversion is needed, agree it before departure considering load, dimensions and final unloading access. The shortest road on a map may not suit the selected vehicle.
